As Larry's family we would like to acknowledge some of his great accomplishments that have made such a significant impact on us and others that have been a part of his life. Larry grew up in Warren Township where he attended Warren Central High School and excelled in football with his team winning the Marion County championship in 1952. During high school he met his beautiful wife Linda and they married on June 15, 1958. After returning from their honeymoon, Larry received his draft papers and spent several years with the Indiana National Guard. After the Guard Larry worked his way from a driver delivering lumber for Pinnell Lumber to Operations Manager for Pinnell Lumber. In 1972 Larry left Pinnell Lumber and founded his custom home building company, M&M Contractors, Inc.. Over the next 35 years, Larry built hundreds of custom homes where he was highly respected and appreciated by his customers, vendors, employees and sub-contractors. During this 35 years, Larry received numerous awards including Builder of the Year 1986, founding member of Hancock Co Builders Assoc.. Larry contributed to the Indianapolis building industry through years of membership on the Board of Directors as well as serving as the President of the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis 1988. In 1988 Larry developed Whispering Pines on Brookville Rd in Warren Township and worked with Mayor Hudnut to develop and open the neighboring Whispering Pines golf course. Larry was inducted into the Warren Central High School Hall of Fame in 2001. While successfully running his own building company and being an incredible husband and father of 3 boys, Larry was able to volunteer and make significant contributions to various organizations. Larry with his wife Linda, unselfishly supported the 3 boys with numerous horses for many years. Larry volunteered and was a multiple year President and/or Officer of the Indiana Pony of the Americas club. With the Marion County Fair, he began as a director then Secretary, Treasurer and ultimately acting as President for numerous years. Having a love for cars, Larry was also an involved member of several car clubs where he again volunteered to manage shows, and act as an officer of each club. As an active member with the St John United Church of Christ Larry was a Treasurer for two terms and Chairman for the Board of Trustees. Utilizing his building skills, he played a key role in church sponsored mission trips building structures for those in need and often donating time to help build sets for his grandchildren's high school singing and drama groups. Finally, we would like to acknowledge Larry's devotion to his church, friends and family and feel extremely fortunate and blessed to have had such a loving husband and father. He was always willing to help in any way he could. Good job. You will always be loved and greatly missed.
