On October 28, 1986 God/Jesus blessed Phyllis D. Thornton and Edward LaMarr Thornton of Aurora, Colorado with an angel he loaned to us all by the name of LaMarr Rashad Thornton.

This was the beginning of a joyous journey.  LaMarr gave his life over to Christ at an early age becoming a devoted member of God’s army, being baptized in 2001.

He was employed by Marriott for several years as a loyal worker.  LaMarr was an outstanding attribute to the community.  His passion was in writing and he was an inspired writer that was always motivated by burning desire to write about almost anything.  His dream was to become a successful writer.  LaMarr’s heart and soul were to read and create many novels.  He enjoyed running, walks, listening to music (especially Sada), traveling, cooking for the family, PlayStation and playing basketball.

LaMarr attended the Indianapolis School System.  He was a proud graduate of Pike High.  He received a (4yr) B.A. degree from Purdue University (Lafayette Campus). He was a member of C.L.D. and R.O.T.C.   LaMarr spoke fluent Spanish and a was a wiz with computers.  He served as an Indiana Pacers ball-boy for three years.  The last two years he was a head ball-boy and Reggie Miller’s personal pacer assistant.  He rebounded during practice for Reggie’s well known “3 point shot”.  LaMarr loved his home state of Colorado.  He had an opportunity to go on the road with The John Cougar Mellencamp Band.  One of his friends is the bass player’s son.

On September 19, 2021 the Lord called LaMarr, who he loaned to us, to enter into his heavenly presence.

He was preceded in death by:  his loving grandmother, Mrs. Mattie B. Hill (maternal), Mrs. Edradean Thornton(paternal), uncles Ronald Pitts, Nick Thompson, Leonard Henderson and Albert Thornton.

In his time of reflection, LaMarr will forever live in the hearts of his loved one’s.  Cherishing these memories are:  His father Edward LaMarr, devoted mother Phyllis Denise, one loving sister, Muneca JaQuay, Devoted and loving grandparents James H. Hill and John Thornton, (2) loving and special uncles, Michael Washington and Donald Dawkins.    (5) devoted aunts, Cheryl (Cake) Thompson, Wannetta (Net) Pitts, Lorri Dawkins, Lonette Washington and Deloris (DeDe) Thornton, also a host of loving and devoted cousins and several loving and devoted family and friends.
