Kurt Harold Faulkner, 50, Zionsville, passed into eternal life on July 24, 2011. He was a devoted husband and father with a passion for family and for leadership development. He is survived by his wife, Janet, his son, Thomas, and his daughter, Leah. Kurt was born on June 3, 1961, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, to Cloyse Clay Faulkner, Jr. (deceased) and Joan Lorraine Petsch Faulkner. He is also survived by his brothers Kevin and Brett.
Faulkner was a business executive with over twenty years of experience in engineering, planning, property development and construction. At the time of his death, he was Vice President of Business Development at Garcia Construction Group, Realtor and Associate Broker at F.C. Tucker Company, Inc., President at Grant-Hamill Foundation, Inc., Active Member of the International Supreme Council, Order of DeMolay, and Secretary-Treasurer at Masonic Heritage Foundation, Inc. He was previously on the Board of Directors at Indiana Ballet Company/Russian Ballet Company Indianapolis, First Vice President, Healthcare at Lauth Property Group, Partner and Vice President Design, Planning and Construction at Modular Solutions, Pre-construction Manager at Kite Companies, and Project Engineer at RQAW Corporation. Faulkner was a graduate of Purdue University (IUPUI) with a BS in Construction Technology and AAS in Architectural Technology. He graduated from Zionsville Community High School in 1979.
Faulkner was a Past State Master Councilor of the Order of DeMolay, Indiana, 1981-82, and Past Master of Frank S. Land Lodge #598, F&AM, Indianapolis, 1989. He was also a member of Charles F. Frank Lodge #760, Zionsville, a 25-year member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, and the Royal Order of Scotland.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Flanner & Buchanan, Zionsville. Visitation will be at Zionsville United Methodist Church, 9644 Whitestown Road, Zionsville, on Friday, July 29, from 4 - 8 pm, followed at 8 pm with Masonic and DeMolay services. Memorial services will be on Saturday, July 30, at Zionsville United Methodist Church at 11 am, with visitation there from 10 am until time of service. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis.
A foundation is being established in Kurt's name through which charitable contributions can be made to aide research toward effective treatments and cure for T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia.
