Knoxie Olean Lackey

Knoxie Olean Lackey, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away June 15, 2013, at Community East Hospital. She was born October 8, 1928 the daughter of Leo and Sarah (Phares) Stockton. She was a 35 year member of the Pentecostal Church of Promise where the late Rev. Condee Carter was her pastor for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank H. Lackey, her son, Terry Lackey, her daughter, Stacy Lackey, her grandson, James Scott Lackey; brother, Joe Stockton and sisters, Martha Rush, Regina Ross and Jamie Spears. Knoxie is survived by her children, Sue Bentley of Indianapolis, Nancy Brown of Clayton, IN, Brenda Mullinix of Indianapolis, Connie Childs of Indianapolis, Jimmy Lackey of Plainfield, Shirley Thompson of Indianapolis, J.R. Lackey of Avon, Marie Manuel of Indianapolis, Theresa McFarland of Avon, Kim Lackey of Indianapolis and Billy Lackey of Indianapolis; 32 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Golda Staley of Louisville, KY and Grace Wray of Burksville, KY; her brother, Howard Stockton of Beech Grove. Funeral services 2:00 PM Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., with Evangelist Terri Mullinix officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Washington Park East Cemetery.
