Kirk Maier Dieckamp passed away on October 16th, 2025, in Indianapolis, IN at 70 years old after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.
Kirk grew up in Indianapolis and attended Ben Davis high school before attending Purdue University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in RHI (Hospitality and Tourism Management).
Kirk’s passion was to the hospitality and service industry, where he was an executive chef for 9 years and server for 22 years at St. Elmo’s Steakhouse. Kirk was a devoted husband and father who loved his family very much. He spent countless hours traveling to attend sporting events for his children. When he wasn’t serving shrimp cocktails to Indy’s finest, he was on the sidelines yelling at referees and being the soccer dad everyone could count on. After retirement, Kirk enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, traveling to Savannah with his wife to see their daughter and family, and watching sports on the couch with his pups. He was a hardworking, dedicated and consistent man who is fondly remembered by many.
Kirk is survived by his wife Brenda (Tubbs) Dieckamp; children Kyle (Alissa) Dieckamp, Kiefer (Sara) Dieckamp, and Shelby (Jeremy) Castillo; and grandsons Landon, Niko, and Dylan. He was preceded in death by his father Walter Dieckamp.
Viewing will be 10-12 Friday, October 31, 2025 at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Avon, with funeral starting at 12 noon. Entombment will follow at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a cancer research center to help further research for pancreatic cancer.
