Kinsley Lynne Gruss

July 25, 2007 — March 2, 2026

Indianapolis

Kinsley Lynne Gruss, of Indianapolis, Indiana, was born on July 25, 2007, and passed away on March 2, 2026. Kinsley was a beautiful girl inside and out. Though her time here was far too short, Kinsley’s life touched the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Kinsley attended Franklin Central High School, graduating in 2025. During her time there, she was deeply involved in the school’s band program for all four years. She participated in marching band, indoor percussion, jazz band, and concert band, forming lasting friendships and contributing to the spirit of the program. Kinsley played several instruments throughout her time in band, including the oboe, bari sax, bass drum, and snare drum. Music was an important part of her high school experience, and those who performed alongside her will remember her dedication, energy, and the joy she brought to rehearsals and performances.

Kinsley was also a talented photographer and artist who had a unique ability to see beauty in the world around her. Through her photography and artwork, she captured moments, emotions, and perspectives that reflected both her creativity and her thoughtful nature.

Kinsley was a devout Christian whose faith was an important part of her life. She lived out her faith through kindness, compassion, and service to others. A reflection of her caring heart, she served as a camp counselor at Wabash Park Camp and Retreat Center, where she shared her faith and love for others while guiding and encouraging younger campers.

Kinsley also recently attended the Lost Bridge Great Banquet in Decatur, Illinois, where she quickly became a well-loved member of that community. She later served on the team for the Lost Bridge Awakening in February 2026, continuing to share her faith and encourage others. Through her ministry, friendships, and genuine care for people, Kinsley touched the lives of many.

Kinsley was preceded in death by her sister, Alayna.

Kinsley is survived by her parents, Holly Clark and Rick Gruss; her siblings, Lydia, Ethan, Mila, and Havanna; her boyfriend, Ty Jones; and she shared a special bond with a large number of cousins who were an important part of her life. She is also remembered by many family members and friends who will forever hold her memory close.

She is also survived by her grandparents, Chris and Teresa Hemphill, Chuck and Vicki Cornelison, Joe and Joyce Gruss, and Dutch Clark and Teresa Belew; and her aunts and uncles, Joe and Libby Gruss, Natalie Clark, Jake Hemphill, and Emerson Hemphill. Her great-grandparents include Robert and Joyce Young and Linda Hemphill, widow of Richard Hemphill.

While her time on earth was brief, Kinsley’s faith gives comfort to those who loved her, knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.
