Kevin had a loving and caring heart, but a very unhealthy heart. However, that is not what got the best of him. Kevin contacted a staph infection. He was not one to complain about his aches and pains, so by the time he knew he was sick, the infection was in the advanced stages and his body was too weak to conquer the infection.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Kim Alan Carmack, and a sister, Karen A. (Carmack) Titus.
Kevin spent his childhood in the Little Flower area. He attended Little Flower, Scecina, and Tech High School. Kevin and the other youngsters in the neighborhood were very close and many of them are still friends today.
Kevin worked for Borden Dairy many years ago, and every time we ate cottage cheese, he explained the process the dairy went through to make the cottage cheese. Later, he was a Marion County Sheriff, he enjoyed carrying the gun and speeding with out getting a ticket. His next job was a truck driver. He drove for several companies and delivered just about everything, appliances, produce, dog food, fast food items (I remember going to Taco Bell and Pizza Hut many times to deliver "urgent" supplies), auto parts, novelty items that are sold in truck stops (for Novelty Inc.), sand, gravel, dirt, and I am sure I forgot something. His last position was a prison guard for the Indiana Department of Corrections. He loved talking with the offenders and toying with his superiors.
Kevin was a veteran, serving in the Army.
Kevin enjoyed his talk radio stations, and yelling at the TV, like someone besides his wife could hear him.
Kevin loved to grill, play in the lake, have family over (so I could cook and clean); but, most of all he loved and adored his four granddaughters, Sophia, Julia, Sara, and Isabella.
Kevin was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Greenfield Indiana.
Here is how he was remembered by a niece, "Reminiscing about my Uncle Kevin today. I will certainly miss his funny stories, his unique viewpoints, his huge smile and hearing all about his solutions to any problem the world might face. Please continue to pray for my Aunt, cousins, his grandchildren and our entire family. He was a joy and we will all miss him."
