Kenneth L. Watts

September 15, 1940 — May 13, 2026

Holmes Beach, FL

Kenneth Lee Watts of Holmes Beach, Florida, was born in Connersville, Indiana on September 15, 1940, and lived in Indianapolis for more than 50 years. He passed away peacefully at his home in Florida on May 13, 2026. Kenny lived a life defined by service, loyalty, and love. He gave generously of his time and heart to young people, coaching his children in basketball and supporting youth athletics through softball and baseball at Irvington Little League. Kenny’s philanthropic work with the Speedway Exchange Club in Indianapolis also reflected his deep commitment to youth programs, child abuse prevention, and civic service, and his example inspired his children to carry on that same spirit of giving back.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 64 years, Linda Stiko Watts; his children, Steven (Sharon Barefoot) Watts, Lisa Copsey, and David Watts; and his cherished grandchildren, Katy (Sam) Dardini, J. Cole (Amanda) Copsey, and Olivia and Sophia Watts. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Dixie Price, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Fattig Watts; his sister, Carolyn (Tom) Stilley; his loving aunt, Bertha Fattig; his father, Melvin Watts; and his brother- and sister-in-law, Arthur and Anita McPherson.

Listening to Brooklyn Dodgers games on the radio as a boy began a lifelong love of the team, one that brought Kenny enjoyment throughout his life. As a young man, he honorably served his country in the United States Army Security Agency and later built a long, respected career in the tire industry, serving as an operations manager at Firestone and Jim Stewart Tire, from which he retired.

A celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Flanner & Buchanan Mortuary, Washington Park East Cemetery, 10612 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, Indiana, followed by military honors at the gravesite. His memory will live on in the family he loved so dearly, the many lives he touched through work and coaching, and the warmth, strength, and steady presence he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.
