Kenneth Robert 'Bob' Swan

Kenneth Robert "Bob" Swan, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012. He was born on November 23, 1929 in Bloomington, IN to Kenneth and Mildred (Bergdoll) Swan. He became an Eagle Scout. Bob was a 1953 graduate of the IU School of Business and a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. After graduation Bob served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army until 1955. He was the owner of Swan's Record Shop, owning four shops across the Indianapolis area from the late 60's to the mid 80's. Bob was also a member of the American Turners www.americanturners.org and was very active in his local society The Athenaeum Turners German Club for over 40 years, serving as President for many of those years. He enjoyed giving his time and energy to the Turner organization. He came to Christ at Eagle Creek Grace Brethren Church in 1977. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marlene (Ragla) Swan; daughters, Jennifer (Nathan) Wilson and Kathryn (Adam) Mechuta; grandchildren, Bryant, Paige, Jack and Samuel. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at Flanner and Buchanan- Speedway on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 1pm. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the services, also at the funeral home. Entombment will take place in West Ridge Park Cemetery.
