Indianapolis, Indiana – Kenneth Leroy Minor, 76, passed away on May 29, 2025, after being comforted by his friends and family.
Kenneth was born on February 24, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Jerry and Deneath Wallace.
Kenny was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis who graduated from Wood High School on the south side and attended Kentucky State University. He joined the state of Indiana as a printer until he retired in 2000 after 36 years of service. After his retirement, he continued to work for several years until 2012 when he finally fully retired.
Kenneth professed a hope in Christ at an early age and became a member of Light of the World Church.
An avid fisherman and hunter, Kenny’s home away from home was on a riverbank, rain or shine. He was a 35-year member of the Outback Hunting and Fishing Club.
Kenny’s dedication and work ethic were an inspiration to his family.He took great pride in being a provider for them and spoiled each child, grandchild, and great-grandchildren. He deeply loved his wife, Josephine, and children. His caring nature and loving heart will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by his brother, Steve Minor.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Josephine Bowie-Minor; children Debar Thomas (Kenneth), Nyree Minor, sister Geraldine Scott (Darrell); children Calvin Bowie, John Brummett (Mable), Lewis Thompson (Jeannie), and Sheila Thompson; as well as many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 10 am to 12 pm with a memorial service held at 12 pm with Pastor Lewis Thompson presiding.
