Kenneth W. Krasavage

Kenneth W. Krasavage, 82, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away on December 2, 2024. He was born on June 24, 1942, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, to the late Casimir and Irene Krasavage.

Ken was a member of St. Maria Goretti Parish in Westfield. He was a former member of St. John the Baptist Church in Newburgh, Indiana. Ken served as a member of the Diocese of Evansville Vocations Committee and his parish council for a number of years. 

Ken received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin and did graduate work at the University of Minnesota and the University of Evansville. He is retired from Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. where he was Vice President of Global Nutritional Operations. In 2002, he retired as Executive Director of Diocesan Services for the Diocese of Evansville. He was the first layperson in the history of the diocese to be responsible for day-to-day diocesan operations. Prior to his association with Mead Johnson/Bristol-Myers Squibb, Ken worked in various engineering positions with Kimberly-Clark and U.S. Steel. 

Ken is a former member of the Serra Club of Evansville and a former Board member of the United Way of Southwest Indiana, the Catholic Foundation of Southwestern Indiana, the Ohio Township Library Board, and former Board member and President of Catholic Charities Bureau of the Diocese of Evansville. Ken was the General Chairman of the synod for the Diocese several years ago. He served on the diocesan strategic planning committee and the diocesan lay pension plan board. 

Ken first joined the Board of Overseers in 1991. He served on the Board from 1991-1997 and 1998-2004 and served as Chair 1994-1995 and 1995-1996. In 2007, the Board of Overseers voted to elect him to the Board as an Emeritus Member. 

In addition to his roles in the church and spending time with his family, Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading. 

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Marlene; children, Karmen (John) Mueller, Kurt (Sabrina) Krasavage, and Kevin Krasavage; grandchildren, Will (Carlie) Mueller and Ayden Krasavage; great-grandchild, Charlotte Mae Mueller; and brother, Den (Rosa) Krasavage.

A Visitation for Ken will be held on Tuesday, December 10, from 10 am to 11 am, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11 am, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17102 Spring Mill Rd, Westfield, IN 46074. Ken’s Final Resting Place will be at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery in Westfield.
