Kenneth Anderson

May 27, 1951 — January 6, 2016

Kenneth (Kenny) Anderson passed away on Wednesday, January 6th, 2016. Kenny had the biggest and brightest smile and a robust laugh that brought joy to all who knew him. He left us peacefully with several loving family members surrounding him. He was beloved by so many and we will be celebrating his life on Saturday, January 9th from 2-5 PM at the Cancer Support Community of Central Indiana at 5150 W. 71st Street in Indianapolis.
Kenny was born in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1951. His mother, Francis, and father, Doyle, have two other children, Debbie and Bill. He married his wife Sara on November 22, 1975 – they recently celebrated their 40th anniversary. Kenny and Sara have two wonderful sons, Michael and David. David and his wife, Sarah, have a beautiful 6 year old daughter, Charlotte, who was the apple of Kenny’s eye.

Kenny worked for Delta Faucet in Greensburg for 24 years, retiring in 2009. He drove an hour each way every day, clearly loyal and committed to the people he worked with. He had a passion for reading and music. We often admired, and laughed about, the vast array of things he knew about…he had quite the thirst for knowledge. In keeping with that, following his retirement, Kenny spent time volunteering at the Indiana Historical Society’s Conservation Department where he assisted with the preservation of historical documents and their rare book collection.

Kenny was a vibrant, fun loving and deeply caring person. He is known for his hugs, a physical representation of how deeply he loved his friends and family. He loved unconditionally and completely – and absolutely without judgment. We remember many family gatherings over the years when Kenny told us funny stories. He had an incredible sense of humor and wit. Every now and then, we got him to join in on our backyard dancing (no one knew how to “shine the tires” better than Kenny)! He loved to watch the Indianapolis Colts games and had fun texting with his nephew, Wynne, on Sundays so they could analyze the plays together!

Kenny would want everyone to know that he loved life. He would want us to celebrate in his honor and share memories of all of our great times spent together. We are all sad for the loss of an amazing man and are also feeling so blessed to have had him in our lives. He left a very important legacy. Kenny, if you can hear us,,,,we want you to know that you were a role model for all of us on how to love one another, unconditionally.
