Kenneth D. Peters

Capt. Kenneth D. Peters, ISP, 64, Sheridan, passed away February 26, 2012. He was born February 7, 1948, in Lee County, VA, the son of the late Buddie and Merble (Early) Peters. He married Sheryl R. (Elliott) Peters on May 23, 1998. Kenneth has served in law enforcement for over 43 years. He is a member of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and is also a firearms instructor. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl R. Peters, Sheridan; children, Sara (Ben) Adcock, Westfield, Amanda (Chris) Young, Cincinnati, Chad (Kirsty) Peters, Indianapolis, Michael (Nicole) Reynolds, Boston, MA; siblings, Michael Peters, Newport, NC, David Peters, Pennington Gap, VA, Roger (Kathy) Peters, Pennington Gap, VA, Patsy (Brad) Maddox, Pennington Gap, VA, Jeffrey Peters, Noblesville; and nine grandchildren. Services will be on Saturday, March 3 at 1 PM at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel, with visitation from 10 AM until service time. Burial will be at Summit Lawn Cemetery, Westfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Indiana State Police Memorial Flower Fund.
