Kenneth "Mike" Brown

Indianapolis

Kenneth “Mike” Brown, 76, of Indianapolis, passed away March 27th, 2024. He was born July 4th, 1947, in Jennings, Louisiana, to parents Dorcey and Edna Mae (Doucet) Brown. 

Mike proudly served his country in the United States Army. 

On April 18th, 1970, Mike married the love of his life, Lynn. He and Lynn shared nearly 54 wonderful years together. 

Mike held several jobs throughout his life. He worked as a machinist for Rolls-Royce for many years before retiring. 

Mike was a strong, loving gentleman. He enjoyed being outdoors and took great pride in his yard. Mike had a soft spot for animals, and took it upon himself to feed and care for the neighborhood cats. He enjoyed reading and above all, loved spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his wife Lynn Brown; son Chris (Evan Backstrom) Brown; daughter Erin Brown; niece Kristen (Jake) Leitzman; and great nephews Nicolas and Trey Leitzman; and sister in law Dee Mickey.  

He is preceded in death by his parents Dorcey and Edma Mae Brown; and brother in law John Mickey. 

Memorial visitation will be Wednesday April 10th, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, from 2-3pm. His memorial service will begin at 3pm. Mike will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
