Kenly A. Smith

Kenly A. Smith, 85, formerly of Indianapolis passed away in Tyler, TX on January 23, 2021.

Kenly was born in Ewing, Virginia to the late Richard and Mossie Smith (Langford) on August 15th, 1935.

Kenly had many hobbies. He loved IU & Butler basketball, the Reds, Pacers and Colts. He trained and competed in harness racing, enjoyed hunting, bred exotic birds and fish. Later in life he enjoyed gardening, fishing, beekeeping and tending to his goats, sheep, turkeys, geese, ducks, chickens, hogs, cats and dogs.

He attended University Baptist Church in Tyler, TX

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Fannie Smith and daughter Debra Lynn Smith (Roger) Cooper.

He is survived by children, Sandra K. Smith (Ron) Ellis, and Kenly Andrew Smith II; brother Lester Smith of Sparks, NV; grandchildren Melissa Okey, Mathew Cooper, Michael Cooper, Jason Ellis, Samantha Lott, Savannah Smith, Shelby Smith, Sydney Smith; great grandchildren, McKenzi Okey, Nathan Okey, Olivia Cooper, Maddox Cooper, Adyson Cooper, Ava Cooper, Maelyn Cooper, Jackson Lott, Elise Lott, Natalie Ellis, Audrey Ellis, Lyla White, Lucas Hough,

Services will be entrusted to Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park.

Kenly will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery.
