Kendal Marie Bangert passed away unexpectedly on October 19, 2025 at the age of 18 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Kendal was born on October 11, 2007 to Michael Bangert and Amy Hatfield Hart. Kendal’s caring and compassionate heart was felt by everyone who knew her. Her smile was warm and welcoming. She always lent a helping hand and gave the most loving hugs, and she was hilarious. Kendal always had - and always will have - the soul of an artist. She loved to draw and displayed exceptional talent. Her artwork, often featured in special exhibits, bore a portfolio of over 100 illustrations. She adored animals and was a loving caretaker to her 2 dogs, Sena and Chewie, 3 cats, Cosmo, Nugget, and Tater Tot, and 5 rats Midna, Faron, Twilight, Tamia, and Agatha.
Kendal was a senior at North Central High School, a top student in her class and one of the head organizers of Chinese Club. In previous years she was on the Volleyball and Tennis Teams, where she met many of her friends. She focused her academics on Chinese studies and zoology, always talking about how much she loved her zoology class. She aspired to have a career in biology and was planning to attend Purdue University. Kendal was a dedicated team member at Lucky Dog Retreat and completed an internship at Pet Wellness Clinic before deciding against veterinary science, but still wanting to pursue some form of biology. Kendal most enjoyed practicing her artwork, going on family trips, hiking at state parks, playing board games and video games with friends and family, cooking dinner with her dad, and joking with her siblings whenever they were all together. They would laugh for hours.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her twin sister, Jocie and brother, Oliver, stepmother, Shannon and stepsisters Aaris and Abeni, paternal grandparents, Paul and Anna Marie Bangert, maternal grandparents, Nicholas and Joann Hatfield and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
