Keith Donnelly

Keith Donnelly, 59, of Zionsville, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of September 26, 2015. He was born in Cincinnati, OH to Robert Donnelly and Claire Kortekamp Donnelly. Keith was a graduate of Brebeuf Prep in Indianapolis where he was a varsity swimmer and leader in student government. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy, West Point, a Masters degree in International Relations from The Ohio State University, and his Juris Doctorate from Indiana University. He served his country for 23 years as a commissioned officer in the United States Army, including time in combat during The Gulf War as part of Operation Desert Storm. Keith earned numerous awards and decorations in recognition of his military service, including the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal, and honorably retired from duty at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Keith was later given the honor of serving on Senator Dick Lugar's Military Academy Merit Selection Committee. Keith was married to Mary Kathleen (Melde) Donnelly, with whom he shared a loving home with their two young children, Kylan and Kee Lee. Keith was an attorney at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis where he served as Corporate Counsel in charge of Intellectual Property, and Export and Defense Compliance. He continued to serve his community as a medical evacuation helicopter pilot with IU Health LifeLine in Indianapolis. Keith had a passion for flying, and was proud to use his talents as a pilot to serve his country and community. Keith was preceded in death by his loving parents Claire and Bob. He is survived by his children Robert E. [Trey] (Courtney) Donnelly III, Bridget Moyer, Kylan Donnelly, and Kee Lee Donnelly, brother Kevin (Marie) Donnelly, as well as his former spouse and mother of his first two children (Trey and Bridget) Kayre Evans-Moreau. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. There will be a wake on Sunday, October 4th from 2-6 PM at Flanner and Buchanan Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. West Drive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 5th at 10:30 AM at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 3352 W. 30th Street, Indianapolis, with visitation at the church beginning at 9:30 AM prior to the mass. Graveside services with military honors and a flyover by IU Health LifeLine Helicopter will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery Field of Valor, immediately following the mass.
