Kaylene P. Walker
77, Carmel, passed away October 1, 2013. Kaylene was born in Lima, OH on December 22, 1935 to parents, Edward and Frances (Feeney) Roeder. She graduated from Broad Ripple High School and went on to earn her degree in nursing from the Indianapolis School of Nursing in 1956. During her career, Kaylene worked as a registered nurse in several areas and it was a career she was very proud of.
Kaylene was a member of Evanston Wesleyan Church and a very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Millersville Chapter #300 for over 50 years. She was involved in the Girl Scouts of America and was an avid reader and enjoyed cross-stich, gardening, and her beloved cats.
Kaylene will be lovingly missed by her husband, Gordon C. Walker, whom she married on July 28, 1956; her children: Mark (Linda) Walker, Paula (Jerry) Morgan and Dean (Jeanette) Walker; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren with one more on the way; sister, Charlotte (Wayne) Corbin; nephews: Wendall and Stephen (Joy) Corbin; two great nieces; and her furry companion, Toby.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan- Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in the Good Shepherd Chapel, where calling will be held from 10 am until the service time. Entombment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
