Kay Ellen Gootee

Kay Ellen Gootee, 85 of Indianapolis, IN passed away unexpectedly January 15, 2021. She was born October 24, 1935 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Kay retired from the Indianapolis Public School System as an Administrative Assistant. She loved spending time with her family and was a faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church where she volunteered numerous hours lending a helping hand where it was needed. Kay will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving children, Lisa Brady, Lee Ann (Mark) Weilhammer, Matthew Gootee, grandchildren, Ryan Brady, Matthew Gootee, Alison (Brady) Walker, Megan Cummings, Michael Gootee, Jake Weilhammer, Amy Weilhammer, great grandchildren, Elliott, Elaine Walker, Owen, Caleb Cummings, and her sister, Jean Ahrendts. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Gootee and her son, Mark Gootee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:00 PM on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at St. Ann Catholic Church 6350 S. Mooresville Road, Indianapolis, IN with visitation there 1 hour prior to the mass. She will be entombed in a private ceremony at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church.
