Her grandchildren: Jacobe, Brianna, Blake, Olivia, Kristina, Katharine, Tiffanie, Angel, Gregory, Dawson, Elliahna, and Paighton.

Many great grandchildren as well as other family members, relatives and extended family members also survive.

Katie grew up on the east side of Indianapolis and was a graduate of Howe High School. Over the years, she held various part-time jobs, but one of her favorites was working at the Indiana State Fair, where she spent 25 seasons making memories and enjoying the people she met along the way.

Katie was a devoted stay-at-home mom who spent many years babysitting neighborhood children and caring for her family. She had a creative spirit and could often be found sewing costumes for Halloween, dance recitals, and plays, as well as creating beautiful quilts for her loved ones.

Some of our fondest memories with Mom were made in the Smoky Mountains and on the beach. The beach was truly her happy place—a place where she could relax, enjoy the beauty around her, and simply be happy.

Katie had been a resident of Washington for approximately 12 years. She loved kayaking on the lake and giving back to her community through her church, the local food pantry, and volunteering within the homeless community. Helping others was simply part of who she was.

In her spare time, Katie could often be found playing bingo or visiting “Buffalo.” She also loved karaoke and had an amazing singing voice. Her joyful personality and love of life could brighten any room.

Katie will be remembered for her infectious smile, her joyful and caring spirit, and the love she so freely gave to others. She will be deeply missed by many and forever cherished as a mom, Mawmaw, sister, and friend.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
