Kathryn Marie Heck

Mrs. Kathryn Heck went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.   Born Kathryn Marie Lusk in Shelbyville, Indiana in 1926, she moved to Indianapolis in the mid 1940s, working at the Indianapolis Star & News, where she met and married her lifelong love, Charles Heck.  They devoted their lives to serving the Lord at Englewood and Post Road Christian Churches.  Together, they were blessed with four children, Steve, Gary, Tim, and Kathy and their spouses. Mrs. Heck also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.  Her beloved husband, Charles, passed in June 2013. Mrs. Heck was known for her loving and giving personality. Everyone who knew her would say she always had a beautiful smile on her face. She was blessed with the gift of hospitality and spent her entire life serving others with a joyful heart.  There was never an occasion where Katie was not prepared to bring a pie, casserole, or coffee cake for anyone in need.  She ministered through that gift and always offered their home as a source of joy and fellowship for others. She spent her final years at Clearvista Health Campus and passed peacefully at Community North Hospital. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at her church, Post Road Christian Church 1112 North Post Road, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46219 with burial to follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
