Kathryn Hill, 89, passed away peacefully with family at her bedside April 29th. Mrs. Hill was a graduate of Earlham College and an accomplished pianist. She enjoyed teaching elementary school music and home economics from 1944-1984. After retirement, Mrs. Hill was a volunteer for the Indy Reads literacy program for twenty years. She was both a teacher and a mentor for her students.
Mrs. Hill was initiated into Alpha Delta Kappa in 1973 and served as President, Vice President, and Treasurer. She was initiated into Mu Phi Epsilon in 1977.
Affectionately known as Nana, Mrs. Hill is survived by her daughter, Joanna Garrison Boyle, three granddaughters, and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hill's family was the joy of her life. Dearly loved by family and life-long friends, she was an inspiration to many.
Mrs. Hill's life will be celebrated Thursday, May 3, at 1:00, at the Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 North Meridian Street Meridian Hills, IN 46260 in the Church sanctuary, with a gathering in the parlor following the memorial service. Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN in charge of arrangements.
