Kathryn A. Whisner
89, of Indianapolis, passed away January 1, 2012. She was born on July 13, 1922, in Jamestown, Kentucky. She was affiliated with the Order of the Eastern Star for 25 years, and has been a long time member of the Order of Amaranth, Past Queen in Daughters of the Nile, Ladies Oriental Shrine, and Social Order of the Beauceant.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Eldwin W. Whisner; granddaughters, Joanne Whisner, Tara Whisner; step grandson, Steven Michael Teepe.
She is survived by her children, Jimmey A. (Linda) Whisner, Cliffton G. Whisner, Phil "Bear" (Connie) Whisner; grandchildren, Andrew J. Whisner, Sarah (Todd) Fuchigami, Landon K. (Tina) Whisner, Angela K. (Bruce) Meyers, Wendy K. (Rick) Rosado, Matthew J. (Tiffany) Whisner, Jennifer Herring, Tracy Whisner, Colleen (David) Mitchell; step grandchildren, Lisa McDonald, Charles Shaw, Lori Chovan, Roxie (George) McDonald, Shelly Beeme; cousins, Francis Gilman, Barbara (Tom) Cribelar, Tyrone (Patty) Tice; and 17 great grandchildren.
Visitation for Kathryn will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan-Washing ton Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the funeral center.
