Kathleen G. McBride

November 19, 1934 — August 8, 2025

Indianapolis

Indianapolis, Indiana – Kathleen G. McBride passed away peacefully at home on August 8, 2025. Her feisty attitude and love of life will be deeply missed by not only her friends, but all who knew her.

Kathleen was born to parents Jesse & Myrtle (Carrier) Goforth on November 19, 1934, in Clark County, Indiana. She and her family moved up north where she graduated from Arlington High School. A beautician, Kathy loved her work and helping others look their best, even meeting her beloved Leland at her shop. They were married in 1961 and celebrated 55 years of marriage together before his passing in 2016.

A woman of many talents, Kathy was also a talented seamstress and phenomenal cook. Her passion though was her family and friends. A dedicated mother to Chad and a devoted friend, she loved to spend time with those closest to her.

In addition to her parents, Kathy is preceded in death by her beloved husband Leland Turner McBride, brothers Clark Goforth and Verlin Goforth, and son Chad McBride (survived by Tammy McBride).

She is survived by her caring friends and a legacy of good food and great jokes.

At Kathy’s request, services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Kathy requested memorial donations be made to Hancock Hope House (35 East Pierson Street, Greenfield Indiana 46140) in her name.

Construction Alert: Blue Line Project Underway

Gradex will reduce the front entrance at Washington Park East to a single lane due to ongoing Blue Line construction. We understand this change may cause significant traffic delays, especially for our funeral, cemetery, and event services.

What we're doing to help:

To ease congestion, we’ve expanded the 10th Street entrance, which will be open during normal business hours for all guests. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this evolving situation. We’ll continue to monitor traffic flow and make adjustments as needed to ensure the best possible experience for our visitors.
