Kathleen "Kathy" M. Holmes

Kathleen M. “Kathy” Holmes, 77, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026.

Kathy was born on July 15, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Joseph Holmes and Elizabeth (Ginney) Holmes. She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Kathy’s Catholic beliefs were the foundation of her life. She generously served her church in many capacities over the years, always guided by her devotion to God and her love for others.

Kathy was highly accomplished academically and artistically. She earned her nursing degree from Indiana University and a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Butler University. Her professional career as a registered nurse in hematology and oncology reflected her compassionate spirit, as she dedicated many years to caring for patients with kindness, skill, and dignity until her retirement.

Beyond her professional life, Kathy was actively involved in the Winter Club of Indianapolis and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis. She will be lovingly remembered for sharing her gifts of playing the violin and piano for many liturgical celebrations and, her unwavering dedication to helping others, and her profound love of Christ.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, 7575 E. Holliday Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46260, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Catholic Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
