Kathleen Hume

Kathleen Marie Hume 52, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away in her home at 6:00 AM, Wednesday, January 8, 2014, surrounded by family. Kathleen leaves behind her life-partner Philip Gumm of Carmel, IN, with whom she shared a respectful and abiding love. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM, Friday, January 10, at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Home, Carmel, IN. Services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, January 11, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Carmel. Graveside services and burial will be at 11 AM, Monday, January 13, at the Brockville Cemetery, Jasper County, IL. Kathleen was born October 10, 1961, in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Ralph L. and Judy (Sherman) Hume of Willow Hill, IL. She served for many years as a Senior Reporting Analyst for 40/86 Advisors. A lover of music, Kathleen was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir. She was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed the company of her dogs, Chester and Hector the Havanese. Kathleen is survived by partner Philip; father Ralph Hume of Willow Hill, IL; sister Beth Hume and partner Jim Dunham, of Harvard, MA; and brother Matthew Hume of Indianapolis, IN. Kathleen was preceded in death by her mother.
