Katherine Mica Brown

We gather today to celebrate the beautiful life of a truly remarkable woman, our beloved Katherine Mica Brown, affectionately known to many as Kathy. Katherine was born on October 12,1965, and throughout her life, she left a lasting impression through her quiet strength, generous heart, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family.

She graduated from Northwest High School, Class of 1983.

Kathy accepted the lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at a young age, and her faith remained at the center of her life. She loved the Lord wholeheartedly and never hesitated to remind her children, family, friends, and even strangers of His goodness. She was a prayer warrior, always willing to pray for and encourage those around her. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about - it was reflected in the way she lived, loved, gave, and cared for others.

Those who knew Kathy knew that she was a simple woman who never asked for much. Lovingly known as "sweet little ol' Kathy aka Kat," she was dependable, hardworking, giving, and rarely complained.

She found joy in the simple things in life: listening to jazz, roller skating, collecting actual collectors items that brought her peace, and spending time with the people she loved. 

She found joy in going to the local orchards and getting goodies for people she loved.

She loved to give - whether it was gift cards, greeting cards, or thoughtful gestures that showed just how much she cared. She was always thinking of others and had a special way of making people feel seen, loved, and appreciated. 

Holidays were her favorite time of the year. She created memories, made traditions, and poured love into every celebration. In the summer, one of her greatest joys was going to the state fair - laughing, enjoying the food, the rides, and simply being surrounded by family and fun.

As her daughters grew older and life took them to different places, the airplane became one of Kathy's best friends. She traveled frequently to visit her girls and treasured every opportunity to be near them. No distance could keep her from showing up for the people she loved.

Giving came naturally to Kathy. Whether she was delivering flowers to family - sometimes every week - baking one of her beloved sweet potato pies, offering a prayer, checking in, or simply being present, she had a special way of showing people they were loved. She never needed recognition for what she did. Giving was simply part of who she was.

Kathy leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughters, Keira Kimbrough and Korin Madison; her "Son-in-Love," as she affectionately called him, Shaun Jenkins; and her treasured grandchildren, Kamora Warren, A'Millyan Abraham, (bonus graves) Shaniya Jenkins, Sarae Jenkins, Lyric Jenkins, and Logan Jenkins.

She also leaves to cherish her memory her mother and father, Rebecca Wells and Ronald Brown; her sisters, Kenda White and Kelley Brown; along with her beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness, prayers, and gentle spirit.

Katherine "Kathy" Brown lived simply, loved deeply, gave freely, and in return, all the love, kindness, and goodness she poured into others came back to her in beautiful and immeasurable ways. Her legacy of faith, love, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
