Katherine Fern Smith

Katherine Fern (Scott) Smith age 85 of Clayton, IN., gained her wings on Sunday September 18, 2022 surrounded by her family.  She was born in Liberty, KY on February 26, 1937 and was the forth of fourteen children to Ben and Dorothy (Cox) Scott.  She married Russell Smith on May 10th 1956 they had five children and were married for 38 years before his passing in 1994.  Katherine and Russell lived in Kentucky, Florida and Indiana.  Katherine held many jobs, none as important to her as being a mother or grandmother.  She cherished and loved her family selflessly.  She is preceded in death by her two brothers and two sisters, her husband Russell Smith, her sons Richard Smith, Donald Smith and Roger Smith.  In addition to leaving behind 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren she leaves her daughter Virginia Mantooth and son Terry Smith.
