Katherine T. Bumen

Katherine Elaine Tomlinson Bumen, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away April 18, 2026.

Katherine was born on May 24, 1939, in Indianapolis and graduated from Shortridge High School. She married Darrell J. Bumen on November 16, 1957, and was married for thirteen years and had two daughters. Katherine retired from I.U.P.U.I. Medical Bookstore and served in the United States Navy Reserves.

Katherine has been reunited with and preceded in death by her mother Geneva Grubbs, stepfather Wilbur Grubbs, Father Noah Tomlinson, daughter Terri Bumen Plazewski and husband Mark Plazewski, and sister’s Iris Woods, Linda Nott, and Cheryl Grubbs.

Katheine will be missed by many people including her daughter Kim Bumen Greene (husband Robin), grandsons AJ and Dalton Plazewski, lifelong best friend Cheri Daniels, and many family and friends. .

To respect Katherine’s wishes, there will be no service. You are invited to celebrate Katherine’s life by performing an act of kindness for someone in her honor.
