Katharine E. O'Neal

Katharine E. O’Neal, 75 of Carmel, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024.  Katharine was born January 30, 1948 in Indianapolis to the late Howard and Margaret Stone.  She was a graduate of Indiana University with a degree in nursing and received her master’s degree from Christian Theological Seminary.

Katharine began her career as a nurse, later teaching nursing at Baylor University.  She was a choir director and organist having served many churches in Indianapolis and retired from The Insight Center as the owner and a mental health counselor.

Katharine was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, February 1 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm in the parlor at Second Presbyterian Church, where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm in the church sanctuary.

Katharine is survived by her children, Stephany Elliott, Jonathan (wife, Sarah) Elliott, James (wife, Melissa) Elliott, Amy (husband, Scott) Kreider; grandchildren, Henry, Evelyn and Oliver Elliott, Everett, George and Lauren Elliott, Braeden Sichterman, Abigail and Elisabeth Marrs; step grandchildren, Rowan and Liam Kreider; great granddaughter, Tiana Davies.
