Karl G. Baumann, 45, Fishers, passed away to the other side on December 15, 2011. He battled cancer for a year, and was brave and strong until he passed peacefully at home in Fishers, Indiana. He will forever be remembered by his loving and devoted brothers Glen, Bryan, and Chris Baumann, his sister, Brenda Baumann, and his four children. He would always call his children "my babies". Anthony Baumann, 21, Andrew Baumann, 19, Savannah Baumann, 16, and Sarabeth Cochran, 7, were one of his great joys in life.
Karl was born on October 19, 1966 in Columbus Indiana to the late William and Sara Baumann. He was their fourth child and is survived by his only Sister, Brenda Baumann, his "big" brothers, Glen Baumann, Bryan Baumann, and his "baby brother" Chris Baumann. His Dad called him "Karlchen", and his Mom called him "Baby" as she did all her Children. As a youngster (and an adult!), he was very active playing sports and hanging out with friends. Summers were spent with his siblings, very special Cousins from Michigan and his Grandparents and Cousins in Columbus Indiana. He loved football and the Pittsburgh Steelers were his favorite team from the age of 10! His friends all knew when the Steelers played, he would want to get together and he'd always have on his #43 jersey! It was truly a time of fun and enjoying his family and friends! Even the week before he passed, he wanted everyone to get together and watch football! He played basketball at Nazarene Christian School (NCS), and he helped lead the team to several victories, as well as championships, with his aggressiveness and ability to be a team player. He enjoyed being in shape, and he met very special friends at the gym. He called working out "fitteling". He had the mind of an inventor and engineer, and he was always trying to improve things and make them better! He had an excellent ability to see the best in everyone, and that led to relationships that were always growing and renewing themselves. He attended and also volunteered for the Great Banquet at East 91st Street Church in Indianapolis. He touched many lives there with his love language of being able to serve others for Christ. He also attended and enjoyed a Bible study home group. He was baptized there just a few months ago proclaiming to the world Christ as his Savior. He had several best friends that were just like family to him. He loved his family and close friends so much! He would not want you to grieve for long. He'd want you to love and trust God, embrace life each day, and live it to the very fullest (Oh, and be a Steelers fan too!)!!
