Karey Brooks

Karey Lynn Brooks 65, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2015. She was born on February 15, 1950 in Indianapolis and was the daughter of Sydney Brooks and Marilyn (Thompson) Brooks Taff who preceded her in death. Karey spent her early life in the Indianapolis area, graduating from Southport High School in 1968. After graduation, most of her work life in Indianapolis was spent at Schwitzer Corporation. She was very much an outdoors person who loved biking and hiking. In 2002 she moved to Asheville, N.C. where she began a career in real estate. She lived very close to the top of a mountain and loved hiking the mountains of North Carolina with her two dogs Rusty and Lacey. She is survived by her brother, Stephen Brooks (Patricia) and nephews Jason Brooks and Eric Brooks (Whitney). Services will be held in the Good Shepherd Chapel at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 3 p.m. with calling one hour prior. Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
