Karen Lee Mascus

Karen (Lee) Mascus 63 died on September 05, 2010. She was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis. Mrs. Mascus graduated from the Indianapolis Public Schools and taught first grade at School #88 for 28 years. She was named Teacher of the Year for School #88 in 1990. She received her B.S. from Indiana State University and her M.S. from Indiana University. Mrs. Mascus belonged to the Church of the Saviour United Methodist Church, was a Silver Sister in Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher’s Honorary, a member on Indiana Retired Teachers Association, Marion County Retired Teachers Association and had been a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Charles A. Mascus, her son Jonathan L. (Michelle) Mascus of Indianapolis and a step daughter, Ann Marie Mascus of Johnstown, PA. A Memorial Calling will be held on September 25, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Church of the Saviour United Methodist Church 6205 Rucker Road Indianapolis, IN. 46220 and the Memorial Service starting at 2:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be given to the Church of the Saviour Youth Fund or to the donor’s favorite charity.
