Karen Kay Dean-Schempp

Mrs. Karen K. Dean-Schemppdied peacefully at home on 8/23/2016 in Indianapolis, Indiana at the age of 60after a long battle with copd and esophageal cancer.

Karen is survivedby her life partner/spouse Freda Dean-Schempp of 20 years. She is preceded indeath by her sister Cathy Keneston, her brother Michael Schempp, her parentsArthur & Helen Schempp.

Karen was born November18^th 1955 in Bismark, ND to Arthur & Helen Vroman Schempp. She was raised in Niskayuna, NY by her motherafter her father’s passing. She graduatedfrom Niskayuna High School in 1973, attended a local business college earning anAccounting degree. She worked at Keneston Antiques in Schenectady, NY from1976-1986 and O’Brien Associates in Albany, NY from 1984-1996 and helped inbuilding a company with Freda at C&D Commercial Services from 1996-2006.

She moved to Indianapolis in 1996 where she enjoyed life,family and friends; she loved riding motorcycles and shooting her guns. And wasthe biggest Walking Dead fan.

She fostered for Morgan County Humane Society, was a memberof The Well-Armed Woman and ABATE up until her illness took over.

Karen will bemissed by Freda, her brothers, David Schempp (Mimi) and Steven Schempp (Susan),Lee Keneston Sr, sisters Jo Ann Schempp, Felecia Dean, niece Elizabeth Anderson(Lamont), Nephew Lee Keneston Jr (Fannelly) Jennifer Thompson (Henry) and 4great nieces, 1 great nephew, 1 great great niece and nephew. Greatest friendMegan Webb.

At Karen’s requestshe will be cremated and no service will be held.
