June Carlson

June Sutton Carlson, 103, Indianapolis, passed away September 5, 2012. She was born October 19, 1908, in Brimley, MI, the daughter of the late James and Mary (Luckes) Sutton. She married her loving husband Ernest Carlson on September 16, 1933, and he preceded her in passing on September 10, 1970. She worked outside the home most of her adult life, including over 25 years at Frank S. Howard and Company. June was a member of the Sherwood Village Homemakers Club and greatly enjoyed being a Docent at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and she always appreciated reading the political and financial news, as well as working the daily crossword puzzle. June very much enjoyed feeding and watching her many feathered friends throughout the year. She is survived by her son, Barry (Jean) Carlson, Portsmouth, OH; four grandchildren, Karin (Dr. Zoltan) Djelmis, Bradley Carlson, Kristin (Todd Kinskey) Carlson, Elizabeth (Michael Gerwe) Carlson; eight great grandchildren, Ian Whitt, Daniel Djelmis, Erik Carlson, Mia Carlson, Aaron Kinskey, Helen Kinskey, Joseph Kinskey, Mae Gerwe; special great nephew, David (Tina) Oakes, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Flanner and Buchanan – Broad Ripple, 1305 East Broad Ripple Avenue. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A service will also be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Peterson Funeral Home, 205 East Cass Street, Cadillac, MI. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to Wheeler Mission Ministries, 205 East New York Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
