Julie Ellen Moore

September 7, 1961 — February 14, 2026

Greenfield, Indiana

Julie Moore, 64, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away on February 14, 2026, surrounded by love. She was born on September 7, 1961, in Indianapolis, the daughter of the late Jack and Ann Moore.

Julie lived a full, beautiful life — one defined by kindness, laughter, and a love that touched everyone who knew her. She never met a stranger, and her generosity knew no limits. Whether it was helping someone in need, lighting up a room with her smile, or making every person feel special, Julie's heart was truly one of a kind.

She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1979 and attended lUPUl. Julie began her career at American States Insurance (which later became Safeco/Liberty Mutual), where she worked from 1979 to 2015. What began in the print shop turned into a long and meaningful career as a claims adjuster — a job perfectly suited to her caring spirit and sharp mind. She also spent many years teaching aerobics

In recent years, she found joy working at Cooper's Hawk, where she was beloved by coworkers and customers alike. Everyone there adored her — she had a way of making ordinary days special.

Julie also devoted her time to volunteering at the Hamilton County Humane Society (PetSmart/Noblesville, IN), combining her passion for helping others with her deep love for animals. She was a proud cat mom to Josie and Eli, who brought her endless joy.

Julie's greatest love was her family. She shared her life with her devoted husband, Ben Hobbs, and adored her stepdaughters Hillary (Marty) Blake, Kelly (Charlie) Kolb, and Kara (Tom) Prince. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Mikaila and Maci Blake, Caleb and Carly Garcia, Anna, Mia, and Molly Bucksot; and Max Prince, the doting great-grandmother of Markie and Montana Dugas, and the loving godmother to James Colter.

She was also a beloved daughter to her stepmother, Sandy Moore, a loving sister to Mark (Bev) Moore and Angie (Kurt) Moore, a lifelong friend to Jim Meinhold, and stepsister to Terri and Sherri Moore and Kenny (Kim) Moore. Julie was a cherished aunt to Leigh Moore and Marc Moore. And many other family members. Her family was her heart, and she was the glue that held them all together.

Julie loved many things — her many friends who were her extended family, music (especially Elton John), traveling to Michigan, dancing, and simply spending time with the people she loved most. She approached every day with joy and made sure those around her did too. To know Julie was to love her; she truly was beautiful inside and out.

Julie will be missed beyond words but remembered forever — for her laughter, her love, and the countless ways she made life brighter for everyone lucky enough to know her.

Visitation for Julie will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 12:00-2:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Home, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229. A celebration of life will take place following the visitation at 2:00pm.
