Obituary

Judy Ann Wilson, née Liles, passed away on September 11, 2026, in Fishers, Indiana, following a brief critical illness and complications from dementia. She was born on January 8, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio, and will be remembered with deep affection for the warmth, cheerfulness, and love she brought to those around her.

Judy was a graduate of Miami University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She went on to teach in the Midwest before moving to Colorado with her husband, Dave. In time, they made their home out West for many years, later returning to Indiana. Throughout her life, Judy carried with her a generous spirit and a natural kindness that left a lasting impression on family, friends, and all who knew her.

She found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. Judy loved reading and could finish an entire book in one sitting. She enjoyed board games and card games, trips to the movies, and time spent with friends. She also loved animals, especially cats. Together, Judy and Dave worked with ICAAN to help train assistance dogs for people with disabilities, a reflection of their compassion and desire to serve others. She will be especially remembered for her beautiful smile and the bright, welcoming presence she brought into every room. Christmas, her favorite holiday, was one more expression of the warmth and delight she shared so naturally.

Judy’s memory will be cherished by her mother, Beulah Bishop; her sister, Sandy Dickey; her daughter, Tracey Cook, and Charles Dearduff; her son, Steven Wilson, and Crystal; her granddaughter, Elizabeth Corbin, and Dakota Corbin; her grandson, Troy Cook, and Morgan; and her great-granddaughters, Evelynn and Aubree. Each of them carries forward a part of her love, her spirit, and the many happy moments they shared together.

She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Liles, and by her husband, Dave Wilson.
