Judith E. Seyfert, a beloved educator and cherished matriarch, departed from this world on January 2, 2025, at the age of 65 in Pendleton, Indiana. Born on February 8, 1959, in Indianapolis, she dedicated her life to nurturing the minds and spirits of those around her.
Judith's profound influence as an educator for Indianapolis Public Schools was felt by countless students who benefitted from her unwavering dedication, compassionate guidance, and tireless commitment to fostering a love of learning. Her journey in education was founded on a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, where she cultivated the skills that would transform her into a beacon of knowledge for many.
In addition to her role as an educator, Judith proudly served in the Air Force, embodying strength and independence. Her spirit was characterized by an unyielding love—she was a nurturing mother to all, always willing to lend a helping hand or share a warm embrace. Those who knew her understand her remarkable generosity; she would give the shirt off her back to ensure others were cared for and supported. Judith stood firmly for what she believed was right, instilling values of integrity and compassion in all she encountered.
Judith's life was enriched by her passions. She found joy in hiking the scenic trails, camping beneath the stars, and immersing herself in art and crafts. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she embraced each moment spent with them, embodying the essence of an "awesome grandma." Travel ignited her adventurous spirit, revealing the beauty of the world and deepening the connections she held dear.
Her legacy lives on through her beautiful children and grandchildren—her proudest accomplishments and the jewels of her heart. Judith's love will continue to radiate through them, a testament to the life she lived.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Simpson and father Edwin Luedeman; her brothers, John and Jim Luedeman.
She is survived by her children: daughter Jennifer (Jason) Hight, son Jacob (Chelesa) Seyfert, and son Joel (Stephanie) Seyfert. Her sisters: Janet Hughes, Jane Koschka, Joan Rousch, and Joyce Findlay. Her brothers: Jeff Luedeman and Jerry Luedeman. She is also survived by her 11 beloved grandchildren.
A visitation and funeral service will be held at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East, located at 10722 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN, on January 10, 2025. The visitation will begin at 4:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 6:00 PM. Judith's family invites all whose lives she touched to join in celebrating her exceptional life and profound impact on so many.
Judith E. Seyfert may have journeyed beyond this life, but her indelible spirit and nurturing love will forever remain a guiding light in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
