Judith Pamela (Cramer) Palmeter, age 83, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of David and Agnes (Clements) Cramer, she was born on May 12, 1942, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She earned a degree in business at Indiana University and went on to work as a secretary. Once she fell in love and married her beloved husband David Palmeter, she found her true joy as a stay-at-home wife and mother and volunteer extraordinaire.
As part of creating a warm and loving home for her family, she made many fabulous meals, and sewed clothing for her daughters, Nancy and Karen Marie. During her years in Fort Wayne, Judy gave generously of her time and talents. She volunteered in her daughters’ schools, served as a daycare teacher at her church, and helped with church dinners. She also cherished restoring antique family furniture alongside her father. Judy provided administrative support for several local car clubs and accompanied her husband David on car club road trips. Later, she also lovingly cared for her mother, spending many devoted hours at her side.
Judy and David eventually moved to Noblesville, Indiana, where they enjoyed many happy years together. Judy sewed countless baby blankets and knitted prayer shawls to provide spiritual support for those in medical need. She was a regular contributor to church funeral dinners and served as the volunteer clubhouse rental manager in their Stony Ridge neighborhood, where she also helped plan and execute neighborhood social events. Judy was active in ladies’ card and board game groups and took great pleasure in tending her garden — inside and out — filling her home with beautiful flowers and cultivating a colorful landscape that even included tiny, intricate plants around David’s garden railroad. Baking was one of Judy’s favorite pastimes, and she was always sharing home-baked treats with her family, neighbors, and church. And, she would relax with a novel whenever time allowed.
Judy and her husband, David, were happily married for 58 years. Together they raised two wonderful daughters, who brought them the joy of three cherished grandchildren. Judy will be forever remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering support, warm smile, and quiet sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband, David William Palmeter; daughters, Nancy Lynn Palmeter Harkness (Scott) and grandson Luke; Karen Marie Palmeter Rupert and grandchildren Kyle and Brooke; sister Carol Angela Cramer Pelfrey; and many close friends.
