Judith M. "Judie" Huss, 76, of Indianapolis died peacefully at her home with her loving husband, Ned Huss and their two sons at her side. Born September 7, 1935 in Fort Wayne, IN. Judie was the daughter of James C and Mildred Wire, Growing up in Fort Wayne, as a teenager, she met her future husband in church activities, and in 1955 Ned and Judie were married in the church where they met.
She is survived by her husband Ned Huss, 2 sons; Michael Huss and Steven Huss, brothers; Charles Wire and James Wires, a sister Barbara Brennan, a sister-in-law Sylvia Hanselman (Jay) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ned's career took them to various places during their nearly 57 years of marriage, including California, Florida, Connecticut, and Texas. They retired in Indianapolis in 1990 to be near family. Together, they opened a frame shop in Broad Ripple and Judie worked for F.C. Tucker.
Throughout their marriage, Judie and Ned collected art together, and Judie enjoyed creating art. She took painting classes as a young woman, and created pen and ink drawings and prints. Later she became interested in fiber as an artistic medium and created quilts, wall hangings, hand dyed scarves, purses, clothing and mittens. She has participated in many local art fairs. She was also involved with a group of similarly minded artists who shared their work with each other during informal meetings in one another's homes. They called themselves the "Crazy Ladies"
The family invites you to Judie's Celebration of Life service in her home on Tuesday August 14 at 6 PM Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Vincent's Hospice.
