Judith Black

June 9, 1926 — April 9, 2015

Judith J. Black 88, Ellettsville, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away April 9, 2015. Judy was born in Alexandria, IN on June 9, 1926 to parents, William C. and Lillian M. (Wilson) Stewart. She graduated from Alexandria High School and attended business school. During her career, Judy worked as an office manager, retiring from Woodland Bowl. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, bridge, visiting casinos and going out to eat. She was also an avid sports fan, especially enjoying the Cubs, Pacers, Colts, and IU basketball. Judy was also a member of the IU Women Bridge Club. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Black and brother, William Stewart. She is survived by her sons, Tracy Black (Karen) and Tim Black (Kim Grider); grandchildren: Shannon Robertson (Mike), Geoff Black (Deanna), David Black and Logan Grider; great-grandchildren: Dylan and Jaidan Robertson and Dakota Black; sister-in-law, Marilyn Stewart; nephew, William Stewart (Kathy); great-nephews, Bill, Bob and John Stewart and numerous other family and friends. Calling hours will be held from 1-3pm, Monday, April 13, 2015 at Flanner and Buchanan- Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, in the Good Shepherd Chapel, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250, with her committal to immediately follow there in the cemetery.
