Joyce Jean Combs

Joyce Jean Combs, age 74 of Indianapolis passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, May 20, 2026 in the comfort of her own home.

Joyce was born on February 26, 1949, in Hazard, Kentucky, a daughter of Jay G. Combs and Virgie (Deaton) Combs. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Joyce was one of three children. She is survived by her two younger brothers: Tommy Combs of Indianapolis and Danny (wife Candice) Combs of Indianapolis.

She is also survived by a beloved niece Jessica (husband Wes) Young of San Juan Capistrano, California and their children: Cash, Vaughn and Ella Young, as well as her cherished nephew Noah (wife Melissa) Tolan of Franklin, IN.

Throughout Joyce's life, she collected Teddy Bears and loved Tweety Bird. She was an animal lover, especially dogs. Over the years, she had two Lahsa Apso's named Jake and Hodgie.

Most importantly Joyce loved her family and cared deeply for them. She will be remembered fondly as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan - Decatur Township, located at 5473 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46221.

The funeral service to celebrate Joyce's life will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM - also at Flanner Buchanan - Decatur Township.

Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens where Joyce will be laid to rest with her parents and other family members.
