Joyce Ann Dancer

Joyce Ann Dancer, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019.

She was born on July 8, 1940 in Indianapolis as the oldest of 6 children born to the late David Milo Nelson, Sr. and Ruth Arella (Sutphin) Nelson.  Joyce was a 1958 graduate of Warren Central High School and had a gift for creating beauty in everything she touched.  She worked in interior design, fashion design, modeling and as a make-up artist.  However, Joyce’s greatest joy was being a homemaker and mother.

She is survived by her sons, Kevin and Jeff Muench; granddaughters, Haley (Connor) Bailey, Josephine Muench, Carlie Muench; and great-grandson, Lane Muench.  Joyce is also survived by her siblings, David M. (Carol) Nelson, Jr., Phyllis M. (Jay) Mullens, Nancy M. (Dan) Musser, Barbara L. (Kevin) Downey; along with many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James E. “Jim” Dancer; sister and brother-in-law, Kay E. (Bill) McCall.

A private memorial service will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Friends are invited to leave online condolences for the family at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
