Joyce A. Colquitt

Joyce A. Colquitt, 77, of Indianapolis, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017. she had been battling pulmonary disease during her recovery from a broken leg months earlier.

Joyce was born in Ok Harbor, Ohio, on December 7th, 1940. she met her husband, Ronald, in Oakland Park, Florida. They were married in 1959 and settled in Indianapolis in 1964. there they both worked for Marsh Supermarket and raised three children. They worked side by side in Advantage Floor Care for 15 years and managed a number of other small businesses. Ronald passed away this past summer.

Joyce is survived by her three children, Alan, Shawn, and Jason. Her love for them was matched only by her love for her grandchildren– Kylie, Jack, Corey, Connor, Jake, Maggie, Kyle, Cameron, Riley, and Connor. She loved participating in activities with them, especially when those activities were in the sunshine.

Joyce made everyone feel welcome. Her volunteer passions included the Coffee Counter and GCC and servicing meals at Wheeler Mission. Visitation will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday, February 26th, at Geist Community Church (6697 W. 900 N, McCordsville, IN 46055). The service will follow at 2:30 pm at the same address. Joyce’s church family was very important to her. Thus, if you choose, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Geist Community Church.
