Josephine Marie Sago Clark

July 19, 1954 — June 16, 2021

Fishers, IN

SUNRISE JULY 19, 1954 ~ SUNSET JUNE 16, 2021

Evangelist Josephine M. Clark was born to the union of Preston & Mayrether Shaw (who both preceded her in death) on July 19, 1954 in St. Louis, MO. She moved to Chicago at a very young age, was educated in the Chicago Public School system, and graduated from Fenger High School.

Josephine founded multiple successful businesses while embracing the joy of being a wife and mother. She gave birth to two sons, Henry, Jr. (Henry, Sr.) and Jamie (Richard); and one daughter, Marie (Henry, Sr.), who preceded her in death. Despite the tests and trials of life, Josephine managed to hold on to God by singing songs like “Trouble in My Way” and constantly repeating the 23rd Psalm. While she was a woman who possessed an unimaginable amount of grace and grit, she had a signature infectious laugh that could brighten anyone’s day.

Evangelist Clark gave her life to Christ under the leadership of the Late Bishop Clarence O. Lee.  She then continued serving at the Apostolic Assembly of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Nurses Board. Compassion for souls and a higher calling led her to launch Higher Heights Outreach where she ministered to the poor, the homeless, and those addicted to drugs. She also launched a children’s ministry, Precious Little Lambs, that was known in the community for singing and bringing good cheer. Additionally, Josephine faithfully served the Cease Fire Coalition.

Josephine leaves to mourn her death, but celebrate her life, two sons, Henry Sago, Jr. of Danville, IL, and Jamie Clark (Rona) of Chickasha, OK; three loving brothers, Amos Shaw and Anthony Shaw of Indianapolis, IN, and Cornilius Shaw of Chicago, IL; two loving sisters, Felleshes Shaw of Chicago, IL, and Amie Brown of Monee, IL; twenty-two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, God-children, and other relatives and friends.
