Josephine (Jody) Bernice Domogalik, 105, Brownsburg, was rewarded with a well-deserved trip to Heaven on October 27, 2015. She was born January 13, 1910 on Gravelswitch, KY to the late Robert Green Edwards and Sadie Catherine (Leffew) Edwards. She was the 8th of 10 children. She married John Carl Matlock at 17 and had two children, Paul Norman and Diann. John, Paul and grandson, Scott are deceased.
Jody (as she liked to be called) survived many hardships raising her two children on her own. She worked at FMC for 35 years. She was stubborn, mischievous always willing to help others in need, refined and with a good sense of humor. She took great pride in her homemaking and was a good cook. Her home was always tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. She was concerned with her appearance and still applied her make-up every morning, well into her 90s. She was a great seamstress and loved beautiful clothing and insisted on being nicely dressed. She enjoyed listening to music of all kinds. Her faith was very important to her and had a Bible on her bedside table.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Diann Wood; grandchildren, Vickie Eastes and Rick Wood; 5 great grandchildren, Kris, Zack, Madison, Josh and Bailey. 2 great-great grandchildren, Konnor and Eva. She was known as Nonnie by her grandkids.
She resided at Roland Manor Assisted Living in Brownsburg since she turned 99. She gained many friends while living there and will be missed.
A graveside service will be conducted at Floral Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 425 N. Holt Rd. There will be a private family viewing. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park is entrusted with arrangements.
