Josephine Holder

Josephine Y. Holder 90, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away January 11, 2014. Josephine was born January 31, 1923 to late Charles and Estella Hayes Youree in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Holder, Jr, brother, Uylese Youree and sister, Lee Emma Rice. Josephine graduated with a Bachelors from Lincoln University and she later received her Masters from Butler University. She was an Educator for many years at Crispus Attucks and Arlington High School. Josephine was a faithful and dedicated member of First Baptist North Indianapolis, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc and Phi Delta Kappa. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and she was full of life and she loved her family. Josephine will be truly missed, but never forgotten, she will remain forever in our hearts. She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Tinsley (Anthony); son, Phillip Holder (Magdalene); sister, Thelma West and a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be Saturday January 18, 2014 from 10am-12pm at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park North. Funeral Service will follow at 12pm. Entombment will be in Washington Park North Cemetery.
