Joseph Roy Collins, 88 of Indianapolis, IN was born March 26, 1928 and passed away February 4, 2017. He was born in Indianapolis to Roy and Inetta Collins, who precede him in death. After high school, Joe served in the US Navy during WW II and the Korean War. He served Indianapolis working for the Marion County Sheriff’s Dept. and then working with IMPD from November 12, 1953 until retiring on August 8, 1989. He was also a member of the Lynhurst Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Jackie Olinski and Bonnie Potter, his brother, Norman “Rod” Collins and grandson, Jason C. Ile. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Jacque, children, Joseph M. Collins of Palm Coast, FL., Randy Collins of Indianapolis, Riki A. Good of Indianapolis, Rudi Hanna of New Castle, IN and Cathy A. (Holcomb) Ile of Mt. Carmel, IL, Sister, Wanda Moneymaker of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
