Joseph R. Dell’Aquila passed away June 28, 2021 at Methodist Hospital. Joe was born on June 18, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from The New School in Manhattan with a B.A. in philosophy, followed by a M.Sc. in physics from Rutgers University. After winning the Gregor Wentzel prize from University of Chicago Joe earned a PhD. in physics from SUNY Albany. Joe served on the faculties of Yankton College, Boston University, Louisiana Scholars College at Northwestern State University and Marian University. Later in life Joe earned anther M.Sc. in mathematics from Purdue University and was appointed Senior Lecturer at IUPUI. In addition to his pursuit of knowledge Joe was a lover of the arts, fine dining, dogs, sports cars and power lifting. Joe will be fondly remembered for his intellect, sense of humor and most of all his kind and generous heart. Joe is survived by his wife Mary Anne and a brother Ronnie. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 10-11am at Christ the King Catholic Church 5884 Crittenden Ave Indianapolis, IN 46220. A Memorial Service will follow at 11am.
