Joseph M. “Joey” Eppink, 22 of Carmel, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021. Joey was born December 28, 1998 in Montana, Bulgaria. He was a graduate of Noblesville High School.
Joey was a car enthusiast. For four years he has been employed at Napleton Hyundai of Carmel where he worked his way up to a successful sales associate. He was well liked and a friend to many. In his youth he competitively raced go-karts and was a member of the Tony Stewart Racing League and Kart Racers of America. His home track was New Castle Motorsports Park where he held several class champion titles. He often traveled and successfully competed at regional and national events. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 1 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 Thursday at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, with additional visitation at the church from 9:30 until the time of the service.
Joey is survived by his mother, Mary Jo (Phil Baker) Eppink; grandmother, Margaret Eppink; uncles, Steve (Melanie) Eppink, Frank Eppink; aunts, Suzie Baker, Terri (Doug) Fisher, Jane Eppink, Judy (Ron) Jones; several cousins; Phil’s sons, Nick (Elizabeth) Baker, Reid (fiancé Molly O’Donohue) Baker, Mitch Baker. Joey was preceded in death by his father, John V. Eppink, his uncle Larry Eppink, his aunt, Terry O’Neal, his paternal grandparent Robert Eppink, and his maternal grandparents Robert (Mildred) Verbarg and Marcella Verbarg.
